More on the Warrior Princess Costume
This warrior princess costume is a bit like a soldier costume from some ancient civilizations – like Ancient Greece or even the roman civilization – for women.
It consists of a brown faux leather dress. The dress has a short white skirt under the brown part. There is a trim pattern that looks a bit like an ancient Hellenic pattern on the white skirt section. The front part of the dress, around the tummy and bust have elaborate swirl pattern symbols which also give it an old world look. The dress has thin over the shoulder straps to hold it up.
The costume is completed with the a red cape that attaches to the straps at the back. There are also some tie up arm pieces that look like gauntlets in a feminine sort of way.
Some additional extras that you might consider with this costume are a sword, as in the picture and even a helmet and shield if you want to go all out to make a big impression.
Could You Be Artemis For Halloween ?
This costume could be identified with the Greek goddess Artemis (or Diana if you want to be a Roman goddess) as she was identified with hunting. She is often depicted wearing hunting gear 9a bit like this although she generally wears a white robe also) and with a bow and quiver of arrows.
Strangely, as the goddess of hunting, she is linked to the deer which she treated as sacred (possibly a few minutes before she shot it with an arrow !)
If you don’t fancy being divine then you could be royalty instead. You could pretend to be Cynisca who was a Spartan Princess. As most people know after the film 300, Spartans were a little crazy. They had a warrior ethic to their culture. The entire culture was centered around preparing their people for war. This was especially the case for men but in some cases, like Cynisca, for women too.
Cynisca’s main and true claim to fame was that she was the first woman to win the Olympic games although it was in the chariot races and contemporary accounts of the event suggest that she didn’t even take part but simply sent a team of men to the event under her name.
Regardless of the reality, even participating in the games was a feat as women were generally forbade from entering such competitions.
So this Halloween, you decide – go as a Greek Princess or God in this sexy Greek Goddess costume.
