Pleated Greek Goddess Costume
The Pleated Greek Goddess Costume is inspired by the legends and myths of ancient Greece. There were many Greek gods and goddesses from the seemingly trivial Dionysus (who was the God of wine) through to Zeus who was king of the gods and had command over lighting and thunder (or the weather I suppose). There were many female gods or goddesses too. And many had very important roles and influences on the lives of the ancient Greeks. This Greek god costume is a sexy version of what they might have worn.

What people wore in Ancient Greece (and by extension Rome as the Roman empire eventually took over Greece and adopted many of the Greek traditions and fashions) has been passed down to the present age through literature (Homer’s Illiad and Odyssey being the most famous works) and also paintings and sketches on a myriad of objects. For instance, vases often depicting daily life would show how people dressed. Frescoes on walls of temples would also show how the people lived.
A tradition in Ancient Greece and Rome was to leave votive gifts in temples dedicated to a particular God or Goddess. This would include elaborate pottery or even idols of the gods and goddesses. Many of these offerings survived and informed us on how a Goddess would look. What she would wear and the essence of beauty and style to the Ancient Greek sensibility.
From these pictures, it is clear that people around this time wore a sort of white toga style costume and they often put their Gods in the same sort of clothing as they might have worn expect with a few more embellishments.
The Pleated Greek Goddess Costume is similar to a toga and is whit in color with gold trim (which covers the embellishments). The outfit is actually a mini dress with pleated skirt. The skirt is quite short and there is a thing gold belt around the waist. You could imagine Aphrodite wearing this type of outfit as she was the Goddess of love, beauty and sexuality. She would certainly make a favorable impression in this outfit. And no doubt so would you at a Halloween party or other special occasion where you dress up. If you a going to a toga party for instance, why not wear this costume and look a little bit different from all the others.
