Greek Gods and Goddesses

No one believed in higher beings more than the Greeks did.  They worshiped and loved countless Gods whom they believed to have the likeness as us humans except with supernatural strength and power.  But out of those adored, there were twelve major rulers who were believed to live on Mount Olympus, the highest mountain in all of Greece.

First was Zeus, also known as Jupiter. He is the King of the Gods and the ruler of the heavens and skies.  Next is Aphrodite, roman name Venus, who is the Goddess of love and beauty.  Poseidon, aka Neptune, is the god of the waters and seas.  Ares, the God of war, is known by the Romans as Mars.  Hades, or Pluto, is the God of the Underworld.  Hephaestus, aka Vulcan, is the God of fires and metals and is the ruler of volcanoes too.  Athena slash Minerva is the Goddess of wisdom.  Artemis, aka Diana, is the Goddess of the moon and the hunt.  Apollo, the twin or Artemis, is the God of light and truth.  Next on the list is Demeter, also known as Ceres, is the Goddess of the Harvest.  Hera, or Juno, is the Queen of the Gods as she is the wife of Zeus.  Last but not the least is Hermes, or Mercury, who is the God of motion, and sleep and dreams.

Olympic Goddess Costume

You can be the thirteenth major ruler in this Olympic Goddess Costume.  With this elegant ensemble on, this Greek God costume will have anyone bowing at your feet before you know it.  This toga inspired Grecian look is basically a long white flowy asymmetrical maxi dress.  To add a little detail and a tad bit of color, the bottom and the mid section are lined in a black and gold trim with the print of ancient laurel leaves.  A bronze medallion is used as a clasp at the upper right strap leaving a trail of white fabric to flow down to your feet.  Top it all off with the matching headband and you too are sure to be worshiped and adored.
