The tale of the three brothers
Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades were not always enemies. These three brothers actually used to rule together until sibling rivalry kicked in. The only way to stop the mayhem was to grant each their own kingdom to rule. It seemed like a just solution. But how were they to choose?
Picking straws goes way back, apparently even to ancient times. Zeus, the luckiest of the three, chose the longest straw becoming King of Gods and ruler of Mount Olympus. Poseidon picked the middle length one granting him to rule over the waters and seas. Unfortunately for Hades, having drawn the shortest, he was set to rule the dark and drab underworld.
Zeus Costume- AKA Jupiter In Roman Mythology
This is one of the greek mythology costumes that was toga inspired. However, this is not your ordinary grey toga. The rich chest piece embellished with lighting bolts in the middle will surely let all lookers know that the king of the Gods is present. The same symbols are found on the two arm guards that come with this ensemble. As if those symbols were not enough, a copper crown is the perfect indication of this king. Check out Zeus here.
Poseidon Costume- AKA Neptune In Roman Mythology
This is a full length white robe, but what makes it different from the ones you use at bath time is the intricate gold trim on the hemline and the Hellenic blue shoulder wrap. Tied together with a belt of the same material, it also has a gold clasp with the symbol of a trident. Nothing screams nautical god more than this. This greek god costume comes with a gold crown to top it all off and gold cuffs to add detail. Check out Poseidon here.
Hades Costume – AKA Pluto In Roman Mythology
Unlike the light colors of the previous greek mythology costumes, this one comes in a dark burgundy tone. The chest plate, arm guards, and leg guards are thoroughly made to seem like a strong metal of some sort but are actually made from a fine fabric. This is perfect to give the wearer comfort at all times. Although lacking a crown, the look is completed with a floor length cape of the same drab color.
Rule any party dressed like the ruler of the skies and heavens, the waters and seas, or the dark and drab underworld. Check out Hades here.
